Your Paper [ 10 points ]
Select a working designer, illustrator, or visual artist with
whom you do not already know but feel that their work resonates with you.
Perhaps you hope to emulate their path. Research their career, read past interviews and look closely at the work they are doing now. As you research,
questions will arise- jot them down. Contact your subject via email and ask them
questions about their work, more specifically the things about it you find
inspiring as well as the nuts and bolts questions such as how they got their
big break, time management etc. Be sure not to ask questions they have been
asked before.
Paper Requirements:
Two pages, typed, double spaced, part research, part interview. In addition you
are to include 5-6 samples of their work stapled in back of your paper. These
can be photocopies, printouts or tear sheets. Your paper is due on the 28th
of April so begin ASAP. I will not accept late papers. This paper should be original work created by you specifically for this class. If your paper contains plagiarized work I have no choice but to give a zero. Always site your sources.
Your Final
Presentation [ 10 points ]
Be prepared to share with the class in a concise manner what
excited you about this persons work, what they are doing now and what you have
learned from them that is pertinent to your future career. Explain the images
you show in a relevant manner.
Presentation
Requirements: Come to class ready and prepared to give you presentation.
Have ten to twenty images(or more) uploaded to your electronic device and have
it ready to be shown on the overhead projector. Because there are 18 students
we will have an allotment of precisely five minutes per person for their
presentation time.
